You don’t have to watch the series to wonder if maybe “What We Do In The Shadows” should have just been a show that focused only on Colin Robinson, the energy vampire. And as you see in the new trailer for Season 2, Colin remains the scene-stealer in a cast full of ridiculous vampires.
The new season of “What We Do In The Shadows” picks up where the last batch of episodes left off and follows our group of lovable, slightly insane vampires as they continue to adapt to the greater world outside their door. What does adaptation look like? Well, that means going to Open Mic Nights at bars, where they perform extremely sexual songs, and attending “Superb Owl” parties that are somehow more about drinking and football than the birds of prey. But honestly, when you watch the trailer, you’re probably going to laugh most at Colin, the energy vampire, who has discovered that telling awful jokes is the easiest way to drain people of their lifeforce.
The cast includes Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillén, and Mark Proksch. As you probably guessed, the series is based on the film of the same name from filmmaker Taika Waititi, who produced the FX comedy.
Season 2 of “What We Do In The Shadows” debuts on FX on April 15.
Here’s the synopsis:
What We Do in the Shadows follows four vampires who’ve “lived” together for hundreds of years. In Season 2, the vampires will try to find their way in a world of human Super Bowl parties, internet trolls, an energy vampire who gets a promotion and becomes drunk on power and of course, all the ghosts, witches, necromancers, zombies and shadowy cloaked assassins who roam freely in the Tri-State area.
