You might not realize it, but Frank Grillo is kind of a huge deal. Well, certainly in China, where he’s the co-star of “Wolf Warrior 2,” the fifth highest grossing film of the year globally, earning $870 million. And that’s mostly in part due to China’s box office. That’s pretty crazy, and although the actor’s time might be about to arrive, he’s keeping it lean and mean for his next film.
“Wheelman” has a very simple premise: a getaway driver has to stay behind the wheel and figure out how to make things right after a botched bank robbery. So, imagine the opening of “Drive,” but if everything went to shit. Here’s the official synopsis:
Frank Grillo (Kingdom, Captain America: Civil War) stars as the wheelman, a getaway driver thrust into a high stakes race-to-survive after a bank robbery goes terribly wrong. With a car full of money and his family on the line, the clock is ticking to figure out who double-crossed him and the only person he can trust… his thirteen-year-old daughter.
