On this episode of Adjust Your Tracking, Joe and I focus entirely on Steve McQueen‘s new film “Widows,” an extremely rare thing at the cinema these days—a serious genre film made by and for adults—that we both highly recommend you seek out this weekend when it opens. This may just be the most impressive cast assembled for one film in recent memory, and everyone is doing top notch work. But we still find some faults in the film, somewhat overlapping with The Playlist’s review out of TIFF this year, but mainly landing on the issue of choosing the right medium to tell this story.LISTEN: Anti-Oscar Bait: There’s So Much More To Discuss About “Suspiria,” Burning” and “Border” [AYT Podcast]It’s a film so good that we actually wish it were even better.
