Will Smith To Star In David Leitch’s Upcoming Memory-Loss Thriller ‘Fast & Loose’

There are very few actors working today that have the star power attached to just their name alone that will drive box office and earn the attention of just about anyone who enjoys films. There’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Tom Cruise. But even they are probably still behind Will Smith in sheer bankability in the film industry. According to Deadline, Will Smith is set to star in the upcoming thriller, “Fast & Loose,” which will be directed by David Leitch. The film tells the story of a man named John Riley (Smith), who wakes up in Tijuana with no memory of who he is or how he got there. After uncovering clues, he figures out that he was previously living two lives. In one, he was the uber-rich head of a major criminal organization where he was living the “Scarface” lifestyle with the money, the girls, and the power. In his other life, he was living as an undercover CIA agent with no family and not much else going on. Riley has to figure out which is his real life and which is the life that he wants to keep living.

Smith is still at the top of his game, even decades after his action film prime. He’s set to appear this year in the sports biopic “King Richard,” where he plays the father to tennis superstars, Venus and Serena Williams. That film is scheduled to arrive in theaters and HBO Max later this year. And he’s about to begin production on Antoine Fuqua’s next film, the Apple project, “Emancipation,” which was the subject of fierce bidding last year.

Leitch is currently working on his new action film, “Bullet Train,” which stars Brad Pitt. Previously, he’s helmed features such as “Hobbs & Shaw” and “Deadpool 2.” He’s also one of the masterminds behind the original “John Wick” film.
