'Willy's Wonderland' Trailer: Nicolas Cage Beats The Hell Out Of Theme Park Animatronics In New Thriller

If you were looking for anything to keep your spirits up in 2021, which is already off to a less-than-stellar start, how about a new film starring Nicolas Cage where he beats the hell out of animatronics at a theme park? If that’s your idea of fun (and it really should be), then you’re going to love “Willy’s Wonderland.”

As seen in the trailer for “Willy’s Wonderland,” Cage stars as a silent, mystery man that has been asked to clean up a decrepit theme park in exchange for the money to pay for car repairs. Seems like a decent deal, right? Well, wouldn’t you know it? The damn animatronic characters that populate Willy’s Wonderland are about to come to life and try to murder our hero. But never fear! Nicolas Cage is here to use mops and whatever other makeshift weapons he can find to make sure these damn robots don’t win.

Perhaps the best part of the trailer, and the reason why you can be assured that “Willy’s Wonderland” is probably a fun time, is the fact that the 2+ minute trailer doesn’t feature Cage uttering one word. All he has to do is put on that grumpy look and swing weapons at an animatronic ostrich and it’s absolutely delightful and batshit crazy. (And batshit crazy is a term that makes any fan of Cage excited.)

Joining Nicolas Cage in the cast are Emily Tosta, Beth Grant, David Sheftell, and Caylee Cowan. “Willy’s Wonderland” is written by G.O. Parsons and directed by Kevin Lewis.

“Willie’s Wonderland” is coming to VOD on February 12. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

The Janitor (Cage) finds himself stranded in a remote town. Unable to pay the repair shop to fix his Jeep, he agrees to work off his debt by spending the night cleaning Willy’s Wonderland, an abandoned theme park full of animatronic characters that were once a beacon of fun for children to play with.

But Willy’s Wonderland carries a dark secret that The Janitor is about to discover. He’s been lured into a deadly trap, or rather, a living nightmare, as the Wonderland’s animatronic characters come to life to destroy him. The Janitor is forced to fight his way from one monster to another, trying to survive until morning.

And The Janitor doesn’t play nice.
