Being absolutely terrible movies weren’t the only things that last year’s DCEU efforts “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” and “Suicide Squad” had in common. When it came to their home-video releases, the pictures were both super-sized. Zack Snyder added a whopping half-hour of material to ‘Dawn Of Justice,’ while David Ayer padded out “Suicide Squad” by 13 minutes. However, if you thought that trend of adding bloat to DC Films was going to happen with “Wonder Woman,” guess again.
Collider caught up with director Patty Jenkins, and she revealed that the movie she made is the one you’re also going to get on home video — that’s it. There are no deleted scenes, and she says that other than snips and edits here and there, the final film is not so far removed from the first cut.

“You know, it’s not like a long journey didn’t happen but what amazes me is how little has actually changed from the first cut other than tightening. Little changes to the final battle, that was really it. I think that what I ended up finding about the final battle was I was hitting emotional points for Diana that I really wanted to hit but I felt a craving for some other kinds of emotional gratification and engagement that we tried to accentuate even more,” Jenkins said. “I think what you learn is rhythm, tone, humor where the jokes are happening but in our case, I just now can finally say all this. We didn’t cut one scene in this movie nor did we change the order of one scene in this movie from the script that we went in shooting with.”
While rumors surfaced at one point that the movie was in trouble, Jenkins flatly denies it, and was truly astonished that something so baseless made media rounds.
“The rumor mill of these movies has been quite something to behold. I tried to learn to tune it out but the one thing I want to say to readers because it truly was stunning to me to watch is you truly can’t believe how absolutely false certain things are until you’re on the inside of one [of] these things. You’re like there’s not even kind of where there’s smoke, there’s fire. There is absolutely lies,” she said.
Well, Jenkins has certainly survived the journey. “Wonder Woman” will be opening on June 2nd and it sounds like the positive reviews might be ultimate revenge.
