Quick! When was the last time you saw Woody Allen on a movie poster? Yeah, we're not sure either, but doing some quick reserach (ie. hitting Google) you would probably have to go all the way back to 1989's masterpiece, "Crimes and Misdemeanors." But, throwing his fans a little curveball, he pops up on this new Italian poster for "To Rome With Love."
The writer and director also makes an increasingly rare appearance on screen as well in the film, which will have him, apparently, contemplating the existential qualities of Italian pastry. And considering how good they can be, we can't blame him. We also get a look at the other stars in the film — Penelope Cruz, Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni — as well as Ellen Page and Jesse Eisenberg locking lips. Who says Paris is the most romantic city in the world?
Anyway, as usual, exact plot details won't be revealed until the first reviews hit overseas when it open in Italy on April 20th. But officially the logline vaguely says it will be a story about a number of people in Italy — some American, some Italian, some residents, some visitors — and the romances, adventures and predicaments they get into. No way! "To Rome With Love" opens on June 22nd. Full poster below. [Best Week Ever]
