“S. Darko,” the ill-advised sequel to “Donnie Darko” following the little sister Samantha of the clan Darko, has been confirmed as an April 28th DVD release from Fox and MGM. The story involves Samantha (Davleigh Chase, returning from the first film) and a friend (Briana Evigan, she of the “Step Up” legacy) as they get lost on a trip to Hollywood, ending up in a small Utah town where Samantha is visited by suspicious visions.
The “teaser” has also been making the rounds, but Playlist suspects its fake, seeing as how the majority of footage in it is from the first film, and most likely features a bit of spoken dialogue by Chase from another, different movie, considering the former child star is eighteen in this and sounds far younger in the clip. Another, official trailer is expected to be shown at the New York Comic Con, where fans will watch pretty much anything.
