Young Han Solo 'Star Wars' Spinoff Now Casting Lando Calrissian, Donald Glover Rumored To Be First Choice For Role

With Alden Ehrenreich locked in the lead role of the Young Han Solo movie, now directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are turning their attention to filling in the rest of the cast. The Wrap reports that the future Baron Administrator of Cloud City will be in the film, and that casting is underway. As you already know from watching the original “Star Wars” trilogy, I don’t have to tell you Han and Lando go way back, and so whoever lands the role will likely have to display some really good chemistry with Ehrenreich.

But before you hit the comments with your suggestions, just know that Birth Movies Death is reporting that Donald Glover is the “first choice” for the part. Now, don’t get too excited. It’s just a rumor at the moment, there may not even be an offer on the table, and it’s really clear if he’s actually met with Lord and Miller yet.

Meanwhile, Jeff Sneider of Mashable has tossed into the pile of rumors that he’s heard the female lead of the Han Solo spinoff will be non-white, with Slashfilm speculating that character could be Sana Holo/Sana Starros from the comics. But it’s an educated guess at best.
