With spring right around the corner, She & Him’s lead single “In The Sun” off their forthcoming album “Volume 2” might just be the track to shake off those winter blues.
In the charming video for the song, Zooey Deschanel dances through the halls of a high school presumably trying to impress the bored looking M. Ward. Eventually she seems to get through to him as he busts out guitar solo in the midst of hula hoop dance off. Yep, this one is a lot of fun. Director Peyton Reed, who previously worked with Deschanel on “Yes Man,” displays a wonderfully light touch, keeping this one from getting on the nauseating side of twee. And in case you were wondering, it’s Tilly & The Wall helping out Deschanel on the call-and-response vocals in the chorus.
“Volume 2” hits stores on March 23rd via Merge Records and She & Him will be touring this spring, including a stop at SXSW this month.
