'Get Out' Producers Blumhouse To Make David Oyelowo Time Travel Film 'Only You'

Jason Blumhouse and his Blumhouse Productions seems to be on roll with their two recent films “Split” and “Get Out” dominating the box office. Fresh off the success of Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” closing in around $200 million in the global box office, Blumhouse has announced a few new features.

In keeping with the sci-fi/horror vibe that has launched the company to success, Blum have come on board to help out the release of the upcoming J.D. Dillard sci-fi film “Sleight,” about a young magician who is forced to save his little sister after she is kidnapped. Sleight is coming out on April 28th. Watch the trailer here.

Additionally, Blumhouse Productions is doubling down on Dillard’s screenplays with “Sleight”‘s follow-up “Sweetheart,” a horror film starring “Dope” actress Kiersey Clemons. “Sweetheart” is currently in pre-production and does not have a release date.

If that weren’t enough for the production company, Blumhouse is also preparing, as Shadow and Act report, an original time-travel thriller entitled “Only You,” written and directed by Jacob Estes (the Tobey Maguire film “The Details” and 2004’s “Mean Creek.” The film’s plot, starring David Oyelowo, is being kept under wraps but will mark the first time that Oyelowo has worked with Blumhouse or Estes. Oyelowo’s next film, the newest ‘Cloverfield’ spin-off (previously titled “God Particle,”) will be released on October 27th of this year.
