Mel Gibson & Vince Vaughn Reteam For 'Bone Tomahawk' Director S. Craig Zahler's 'Dragged Across Concrete'

If coming up with a title for your movie is half the battle, S. Craig Zahler certainly comes out on top with some terrific names for his films. “Bone Tomahawk” was a fitting moniker for his grisly western, while his upcoming thriller “Brawl In Cell Block 99” tells us everything we need to know about that one. Now, he’s got another great title and two big actors for a new project.

Dragged Across Concrete” will bring together “Hacksaw Ridge” director Mel Gibson and the film’s co-star Vince Vaughn (who also leads ‘Cell Block 99’). The story will follow stolid, old guard policeman, Ridgeman (Gibson) and his volatile younger partner, Anthony (Vaughn), who find themselves suspended when a video of their strong-arming tactics become the media’s special du jour. Low on cash and with no other options, these two embittered soldiers descend into the criminal underworld to gain their just due, but instead find far more than they wanted awaiting them in the shadows. It sounds like familiar genre territory, but we trust Zahler has some kind of intense spin on things.

No word yet on when this might get in front of cameras, but it’ll be at the upcoming European Film Market to drum up interest among buyers. And at any rate, it’ll probably have to wait for Gibson to be done with, uh, “Daddy’s Home 2.”
