With his only appearance on the big screen this year coming in the farty indie movie “Swiss Army Man,” it might seem like Paul Dano has been laying low. But the actor is now filming his directorial debut “Wildlife,” and next year, he’ll be in homes across the globe in Bong Joon-Ho‘s Netflix-produced flick “Okja.” And once he’s done with this work behind the camera, Dano is starting to line up projects that’ll bring him in front of the camera.
Deadline reports that Dano is in talks to star in “The Englishman.” Edward Berger, who has directed multiple multiple episodes of the hit series “Deutschland 83,” will helm this picture about a young Stasi agent who is giving a shot at promotion if he can take down the mysterious hitman known only as The Englishman.
No word yet on when it will shoot, but casting is underway, so it sounds like everyone involved wants to get this going sooner rather than later. We’ll pretty much watch Dano in anything, and this has a helluva premise, and offers something a bit different than what we’ve seen from the actor before. Here’s hoping there’s more news soon.
