First Trailer For ‘Westworld’ Season 2 Returns To The Future

Let’s be honest, HBO is looking for a show to take over the “must-watch” status of “Game of Thrones,” after that show ends its run sometime next year. While they try to hammer out an idea for a prequel, it looks like they might have another show ready to step up. “Westworld” finished its first season as a bonafide hit for the network. For all the hype surrounding the first series, with its huge budget and all-star cast, HBO has to be pleased with how well received the first season was.

Now, we have the first teaser for season 2 of “Westworld,” and it looks like HBO is hoping to go even bigger for the next go round of the series. While we didn’t get to see very much about what the plot of the second season might be, we got to see plenty of returning faces, and a few new ones as well. Ed Harris has returned to the series, as has most of the cast from season 1. Also joining the fray are new regulars Katja Herbers and Zahn McClarnon.

“Westworld” has recently made headlines for picking up a huge number of Emmy nominations. Tying “Saturday Night Live” for the most 2017 nominations with 22, “Westworld” is expected to have a great night when the award show airs later this year. “Westworld” is created by Jonathan Nolan (brother of Christopher) and his wife Lisa Joy. Previously, Nolan had worked with his brother as a screenwriter, and he also helped create and produce the long-running CBS series “Person of Interest.”

While fans might be clamoring at the bit for the new season of the show, they still have a while to wait. “Westworld” Season 2 isn’t scheduled to return until 2018. Still, HBO wasn’t afraid to give a little tease, so you can watch that little taste of things to come right here.
