Is death really the end? A body may hold the secret to new life or be the catalyst for a horrifying fate in “Bring Her Back. After tragedy strikes, this A24 film sees two siblings move in with a foster mother. Their new home seems normal initially, but something sinister lurks just out of sight. A surprising theory about what happens after death only complicates matters and leads them toward an impossible choice.
The intriguing new horror film comes from filmmakers Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou, and it is based on a screenplay by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman. This creative team is all too familiar with the genre. “Talk to Me” drew critical praise during the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. It became a box office hit and one of A24’s most popular horror films. Legendary director Peter Jackson also called the film “relentlessly scary and disturbing” in his statement to a distributor. “Talk To Me ” isn’t just good – it’s very good. The best, most intense horror movie I’ve enjoyed in years,” Jackson added.
‘Her’ brings together a celebrated performer and talented young actors. Academy Award nominee Sally Hawkins leads the cast. The actress garnered acclaim for her performance in “The Shape of Water” and most recently appeared in the musical fantasy “Wonka.” Billy Barratt, Sora Wong, Jonah Wren Phillips, Sally-Anne Upton, Stephen Phillips, and Mischa Heywood also star in the upcoming genre project.
