11 October TV Shows To Watch: ‘Disclaimer,’ ‘Heartstopper,’ ‘La Máquina’ & More

Ella Purnell continues to carve out a niche area of television projects for herself following the success of “Yellowjackets” and “Fallout.” In the upcoming series for Starz, “Sweetpea,” she stars as a woman who is often looked over until she’s pushed to her breaking point and begins to possess a killer new power. Based on the book by CJ Skuse and adapted by Kirstie Swain, the dark comedy also stars Nicôle Lecky, Jon Pointing, Calam Lynch, Leah Harvey, Jeremy Swift, and more. 
Release Date: The series premieres October 10 on Starz. 

Teacup
The latest horror TV series, “Teacup,” follows a group of people living on an isolated ranch who are forced together to face down a mysterious threat. It was created by Ian McCulloch and inspired by Robert R. McCammon‘s novel “Stinger.” The series premiered at the 2024 Fantastic Fest and stars Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, Chaske Spencer, Kathy Baker, Boris McGiver, Caleb Dolden, Emilie Bierre, and Luciano Leroux.
Release Date: Season 1 premieres October 10 on Peacock

Cate Blanchett stars in the upcoming television series from renowned filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón. Based on the novel by Renée Knight, the series follows Blanchett as a famed documentary journalist who finds out that she’s a character in a novel where her secrets are being revealed. The miniseries also stars Kevin Kline, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Louis Patridge, Lesley Manville, HoYeon Jung, and more.

Shrinking
Created by Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel, and Brett Goldstein, the Apple TV+ comedy-drama series “Shrinking” returns for its second season. After ending on a cliffhanger, season two picks up with Segel’s Jimmy continuing to believe his unorthodox, hands-on approach to being a therapist is working. Harrison Ford, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Lukita Maxwell, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, and Ted McGinley also star. 
Release Date: Season 2 premieres October 16 on Apple TV+.
