12 Movies To See In June: ‘Across The Spider-Verse,’ ‘No Hard Feelings,’ ‘Asteroid City’ & More

Flamin Hot
Directed by Eva Longoria and written by Lewis Colick, “Flamin’ Hot,” is based on the memoir of Richard Montañez, a Frito-Lay janitor who claimed to have invented the snack food Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. It’s a comedic take on the typical biopic with Jesse Garcia starring as Montañez. The film, which made its debut at this year’s SXSW, also stars Annie Gonzalez, Dennis Haysbert, and Tony Shalhoub.
Release Date: Available to stream June 9 via Hulu and Disney+.

Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts” 
Creed II” director Steven Caple Jr. steps up to bat for the next installment of the “Transformers” series with “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.” Franchise regulars Peter Cullen, John DiMaggio, and David Sobolov all return, with Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback starring as the new leads. The film follows Optimus Prime and the Autobots as they team up with a faction of Transformers known as the Maximals in a move to save the Earth. 
Release Date: In theaters June 9 via Paramount Pictures.

Elemental
Pixar returns with “Elemental” from director Peter Sohn (“The Good Dinosaur”). The film takes place in a city where fire, water, land, and air residents live together, following a fiery young woman and a go-with-the-flow water type who discover how much they have in common despite their inherent differences. Leah Lewis, Mamoudou Athie, Ronnie del Carmen, Catherine O’Hara, and Joe Pera all lend their voices to the film.
Release Date: In theaters June 16 via Walt Disney Studios.

The Flash
The latest of the DC slate, “The Flash,” looks to reestablish the most current film series in terms of quality and narrative. Following Barry Allen after his attempt to fix the past changed the future, once dead villains such as Michael Shannon’s General Zod return to pose new threats, while other heroes such as Michael Keaton’s Batman make a nostalgic return. “It” director Andy Muschietti helms the film with a script from Christina Hodson (“Bumblebee,” “Birds of Prey”). 
Release Date: In theaters June 16 via Warner Bros. Studios.
