Untitled Kathryn Bigelow Thriller
Her first film in eight long years, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow returns with a national crisis thriller and a real-time unfolding drama about White House officials trying to avert disaster and a missile strike on the United States. The picture stars Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Jared Harris, Greta Lee, Gabriel Basso, Anthony Ramos, Tracy Letts, Jason Clarke, Moses Ingram, Malachi Beasley, Aminah Nieves, Gbenga Akinnagbe and it’s her first film not written by Mark Boal since “The Hurt Locker” (Noah Oppenheim penned the script).
Release Date: TBA, but they’re in post-production as of December, so keep an eye on late 2025/awards season.
“Vie Privée”
French film director and screenwriter Rebecca Zlotowski (2022’s Cannes entry “Other People’s Children”) returns with a French psychological drama about a renowned psychiatrist who mounts a private investigation into the death of one of her patients, whom she is convinced has been murdered. Fluent-in-French Jodie Foster stars alongside Daniel Auteuil (“La belle epoque”) and Virginie Efira (“Other People’s Children”).
Release Date: Filming wrapped last fall, so keep an eye on TIFF or Venice.
