‘The Studio,’ ‘The Pitt’ & ‘Adolescence’ Dominate The 2025 Emmy Awards [Complete List]

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards were on CBS, which decided to pick the milquetoast Nate Bargatze as this year’s host. It was an adventure, but you can read more about that in our eventual Best and Worst recap of the night. More importantly, the big awards went to “Adolescence” for Limited or Anthology Series, “The Studio” won Comedy Series, and “The Pitt” took Drama Series.

In early awards, Seth Rogen won Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for “The Studio” while Jean Smart took her fourth Lead Actress in a Comedy Series trophy for “Hacks.” In what turned out to be a very close race, Britt Lower from “Severance” won Lead Actress in a Drama Series over “Matlock’s” Kathy Bates. Cristin Milioti won Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie for “The Penguin.” Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie went to Stephen Graham for “Adolescence.” Last but not least, Noah Wyle took Lead Actor in a Drama Series for “The Pitt.”

In a major surprise, Katherine LaNasa took Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for “The Pitt.” Tramell Tillman took the Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for “Severance” and gave a heartfelt speech dedicated to his. mother. Hannah Einbinder took Supporting Actress for “Hacks” on her fourth try. Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series went to the incredible Jeff Hiller for the Peabody Award-winning “Somebody Somewhere.” Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie went to “Adolescence’s” Owen Cooper. His co-star Erin Doherty won Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie.

Directing for a Comedy Series went to Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Philip Barantini took the Directing Emmy in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie for “Adolescence.” And in another surprise, Adam Randall took Directing for a Drama Series for “Slow Horses.”

“Andor” got some primetime love as Dan Gilroy took Writing for a Drama Series. Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham won Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie or “Adolescence.” The team from “The Studio” won Writing for a Comedy Series. “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” won Writing for a Variety Series.

As expected, Reality Competition Series went to “The Traitors” and Outstanding Live Variety Special went to “SNL50: The Anniversary Special.” In a “why are they still doing this category with two nominees” moment, Jeff Probst provided a fun “Survivor” bit as “Last Week Tonight” beat “Saturday Night Live” for Outstanding Scripted Variety Series.

The loudest roar of the night went to “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” taking the Variety Talk Series category after CBS canceled the program in July.

Keep track of who won and who lost as the night progresses.
