First Look: 'Where The Wild Things Are' The Video Game

We already mentioned the fact that a “Where The Wild Things Are” video game was coming soon via Warner Bros. and that October would be a veritable ‘Wild Things’ month given the fact the Spike Jonze-directed movie hits October 16 and multiple novels, coffee table books and whatnot are all hitting as part of the larger campaign.

Well, the video game is naturally hitting in October as well and here’s your first look (via GameInformer). Warner announced today that the game will also be available via Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS, but didn’t set a specific street date yet.

What do you do in the game? “players assume the role of Max and can explore the island of the Wild Things, journey across its dangerous terrain, overcome obstacles and battle creatures,” says GamePlanet. Sounds a little run-of-the-mill, but then again, we’re not gamers.

WB is certainly doing everything it can to remind consumers that the film is coming out in October. We wonder just how crazy that awareness noise level will be come late September. Will the film hit the Toronto Film Festival? Hard to say, the studio and filmmakers are probably going to see how the Comic-Con appearance goes down first.
