Abel Ferrara Can't Catch A Break

So New Order have broken up, right? Yes, they’ve formed a new New Order minus bassist Peter Hook, who was being a pain in the ass last year when he tried to decide for everyone else that the group had called it quits (when literally, he had quit and said, “well, you can’t be N.O. without me, right?”). Now the remaining, members of Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris, newish New Order dude Phil Cunningham, and Alex James of Blur have formed a new group called Bad Lieutenant.

Oh oh. Did they consult Abel Ferrara? You’ll remember that Ferrara practically snapped a gasket when Werner Herzog announced last year that he was making a rem…., errr, borrowing the “Bad Lieutenant” title for his own re-imagining of the story now called, “Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans,” starring Nick Cage (and quite possibly a comedy). But now a band called Bad Lieutenant? Has Ferrara gone totally apoplectic today? [PFM]
