Over on Twitter, filmmaker Adam McKay was talking about his follow-up to “The Big Short,” which stars Christian Bale as former Vice President Dick Cheney. There’s been a lot of anticipation for the film, due in part to the story, which should be interesting enough itself, but also because of Bale and McKay, who collaborated on the Oscar-nominated ‘Short.’

In discussing, the film, McKay finally dropped the official title, which is now “Vice,” and also hinted that a trailer would be imminent. For months, people have been throwing potential titles for the film. “Vice” was always considered a front-runner, as was “Backseat.” Of course, if you don’t understand why “Backseat” would be appropriate, then this film is definitely going to be for you. However, McKay confirmed that “Backseat” wasn’t ever really considered, explaining, “It was for those yellow signs to tell crew where to park and somehow got out there.”

Also, in confirming the title, the filmmaker ensured that “Vice” is nearly done, barring “a few more little fixes.” He’s very pleased with the end result, but won’t go so far as to compare it to a recent “masterpiece.”

A fan asked how “Vice” would compare to “Foxcatcher,” considering Steve Carell is co-starring with Bale in the Cheney biopic. McKay said, “Nothing is as good as Foxcatcher. All time masterpiece.”

“Vice” is expected to hit theaters on December 14.
