Got a Tip?

Alison Pill Last Addition To Woody Allen’s ‘Midnight In Paris’

Woody Allen may be still coming off mediocre Cannes reviews for his upcoming picture, “You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger,” but as per usual, he’s probably shrugged from the notices and is moving full steam ahead on his next picture, the romantic drama, “Midnight In Paris.”

Shooting this summer in, you guessed it, the City of Light, the superb cast already stars Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard, Kathy Bates, Michael Sheen, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Tom Hiddleston and Adrien Brody, who just joined the cast.

While that seemed like plenty — lesser known actors like Nina Arianda, Corey Stoll, Mimi Kennedy and Kurt Fullerby were also part of the cast — one more final addition has been made in Alison Pill, who shined in her small role in Gus Van Sant’s “Milk,” and also appears this summer in Edgar Wright’s “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World” (She was also good in HBO’s undervalued, “In Treatment,” and “Dear Wendy”). The full synopsis is as thus:

MIDNIGHT IN PARIS is a romantic comedy that follows a family travelling to the city for business. The party includes a young engaged couple (likely Wilson and McAdams the two leads) that has their lives transformed throughout the journey. The film celebrates a young man’s great love for Paris, and simultaneously explores the illusion people have that a life different from their own is better

No word on what Pill’s role will be, but possibly one of the family’s younger siblings? At the rate Allen shoots — a super quick clip — the film will be done by the end of the year and he’ll be showing it off at Cannes 2011. “You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger,” which stars Josh Brolin, Naomi Watts, Anthony Hopkins, Freida Pinto and Lucy Punch among others, hits theaters September 23 via Sony Pictures Classics (Allen’s regular home of late) according to the sometimes dubious IMDB (though that’s a bit of news to us, last we heard the most concrete date was “the fall”). Don’t be surprised if September 23rd is slightly off the mark.
