Well, the rumors are true. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are going to tag team on another movie, and no, it won't have the word 'Expendables' in it.
With the market at the Berlin Film Festival about to kick into full swing, Summit and Emmett/Furla Films will be tempting buyers with "The Tomb," and they've confirmed the rumors that surfaced a couple of weeks ago that Arnie and Sly will star. But that's not all. After bouncing around a couple of directors including "I Saw The Devil" helmer Kim Ji-woon and Antoine Fuqua, the relatively anonymous Mikael Håfström ("1408," "The Rite," the eternally shelved "Shanghai") will now get behind the camera.
Penned by Miles Chapman (”Road House 2”) with a rewrite by Jason Keller (”Machine Gun Preacher”), the story follows Ray Breslin (Stallone), a security expert who designed an inescapable, high-tech prison only to be framed for a crime and locked up in it. Arnie will play the standard hardened inmate with a heart of gold.
We have mixed feelings on this. The concept is kind of dumb, but also has the potential to be "Commando"-style fun (brainless, but stupidly entertaining). But it needs to be approached with some flair and that's hardly a word that could be used to describe Håfström, so we'll just have to wait and see how it all shakes out. [Deadline]
