We’re breaking our moratorium on “Arrested Development” movie news about one week after we started it. Great, right?
The film has been sort of announced in the trades. And by “sort of,” we mean, the trades are getting (sadly) into the blog business of reporting stories that aren’t really stories (isn’t that what us Remora fish are supposed to do? Where are your guy’s standards?)
So THR has “officially announced” that series creator Mitch Hurwitz and co-executive producer James Vallely are working on the screenplay.
Wait, according to every cast member of ‘AD,’ Hurwitz has been working on the script for over a year. A Fox Searchlight source even told us once that a screenplay was actually on their desks. Imagine are also producing, but that’s old news too. There’s really zero new information here other than Hurwitz and Vallely have “started writing the script.” Yeah, we haven’t heard that one before. Hurwitz is apparently still planning to direct. Whatever, next.
