There’s a reason Ben Mendelsohn snagged one of the two Emmy nominations Netflix‘s "Bloodline" received earlier this month — he’s just that damn good. He was easily the highlight of the streaming platform’s new drama, but as fans know there was a bit of a question mark about whether or not he’d return after the first season. **SPOILERS AHEAD** The entire narrative of the first season was centered around his character’s death at the hands of his brother, John, but it seems there’s a lot more Danny Rayburn to come.
At the Television Critics Association press tour, executive producer Glenn Kessler confirmed that Mendelsohn will be back as a series regular for season 2. “The DNA of the show is such that the past is always with us,” he explained. “We’re going to learn more about Danny’s effect on the family and more about his past, and also what his effects are in the present day.”
It’s probably safe to venture it’ll be about Danny’s son, who made a surprise appearance in the final episode of season one. Well, I’m intrigued and more Mendeloshn is just fine by me.
