‘High Desert’: Ben Stiller & Patricia Arquette To Reteam Yet Again For A Brand-New Series For Apple

You watch a film like “Zoolander,” and you might not leave it with the best idea of Ben Stiller’s true filmmaking abilities. Sure, he’s funny and can make people laugh, but in recent years, he’s proven himself to be an adept, award-winning director, especially with his recent series, Showtime’sEscape at Dannemora.” And it appears that he is already planning his latest collaboration with that show’s star, Patricia Arquette, on a new series coming to Apple.

According to THR, Stiller has signed on to direct and produce a new Apple TV+ comedy series, titled “High Desert,” which will star the aforementioned Patricia Arquette. The series stars Arquette as a recovering drug addict that is faced with a major life change after the death of her mother. The woman takes the death of her mother as the motivation to become a private investigator.

As mentioned, Arquette and Stiller previously worked together on the ‘Dannemora’ series at Showtime, which was nominated for seven Emmys, including Best Limited Series, Best Director (Stiller), and Best Actress (Arquette). The duo has already signed on to collaborate for another Apple TV+ project, titled “Severance,” which has yet to be given an official release date.

He’s also signed on to direct Oscar Isaac in a new thriller titled “London.”

Obviously, it’s too early to tell when we might see “High Desert” go in front of cameras and eventually premiere on Apple’s streaming service. But with Stiller and Arquette aboard, this is clearly a series to keep your eye on.
