Hilarious NSFW Trailer For Nick Kroll & Netflix’s Animated Comedy ‘Big Mouth’ [Watch]

Though Netflix carefully protect the data for who’s actually watching what on their service, it’s always possible to extrapolate what’s doing well by looking at the sort of shows that Netflix commission. Clearly, Marvel do well for them because they now have six different Marvel shows, for instance, and we assume that “GLOW” came about in part because of the success of “Orange Is The New Black.”

So it’s probably safe to assume that the service are pretty high on adult animation. “BoJack Horseman,” their first entry in the genre, is arguably their most critically-beloved show (and probably their best too), while “F Is For Family” and “Castlevania” have both been recommissioned, and Ezra Koenig’s anime “Neo Yokio” hits in a few weeks, with Matt Groening’s “Disenchantment” coming in 2018.

Next up, and looking to capture some of that “Bob’s Burgers”-type audience, is “Big Mouth,” created by stand-up Nick Kroll and “Family Guy” writer Andrew Goldberg. The pair were best pals growing up, and the animated comedy is based on their own early adolescences. Don’t expect “The Wonder Years,” though — this looks, as you might imagine from Kroll, properly filthy, with a full 40 seconds of ejaculation material at the very beginning of the trailer that just debuted, and an animated vagina popping up at the end in hope of that elusive Ted Cruz Twitter fave.

The cast contains most of the sort of comic performers you’d expect for a show like this — John Mulaney, Maya Rudolph, Jason Mantzoukas, Jordan Peele, Fred Armisen, Jenny Slate and Jessi Klein — and while Kroll isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, we’re fans, and this looks pretty funny, and oddly inventive in the way it captures the grimmer sides of puberty in a sort of “Freaks & Geeks”-ish way. Could this be another animated Netflix surprise? “Big Mouth” hits on September 29th, so we’ll find out for sure then. In the meantime, watch the full trailer below.
