Bo Burnham Releases Over An Hour Of Deleted Scenes From 'Bo Burnham: Inside'

Bo Burnham’s COVID-19 Netflix special “Bo Burnham: Inside” was quite a departure for the comedian but a wildly successful one. Both critics and audiences loved its release last May, its comedic but poignant notions of existential despair during the pandemic, and it has proven to have staying power. Inside (The Songs) hit #1 quickly on Billboard’s comedy albums chart and eventually cruised up to #7 on the Top 200.

And now, in a Memorial Day treat (if that’s a thing), Burnham announced yesterday that he had released 63 minutes of deleted scenes and outtakes from “Inside” in a video posted on YouTube last night. Burnham announced the new video on Twitter yesterday, first with a “stand by…” tweet before he wrote, “A year ago today, I released a special called inside. I’ve spent the last two months editing together material that I shot for the special but didn’t end up using. It will be on my youtube channel in one hour. I hope you enjoy it.”

So, fans of the Netflix special will be thrilled by the news of over an hour of new material left on the cutting room floor. Remember that “Inside” only runs 83 minutes, so this new video comes in at 24 minutes shorter than that.

Given how big of a hit “Inside” is for Burnham, he’s not at fault in uploaded a new video for fans. It’s Burnham’s best-received project by a landslide. He won a few Emmys for the project in music direction and in Variety Special writing and directing.
