Earlier this year, Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon starred in “You’re Cordially Invited,” a comedy about a double-booked wedding in the same venue. Well, a similar concept rears its head in “Bone Lake,” but as the title suggests, it’s much more sinister. The erotic horror thriller centers on a couple forced to share a mansion they have booked for a vacation getaway with a mysterious and attractive couple. As you’d expect, things go sour, but not before they get a little into sexy times.
Mercedes Bryce Morgan directs the film; her feature debut, “Fixation,” premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, her second film, “Spoonful of Sugar,” is viewable on AMC’s Shudder, and she has directed more than 50 commercials and music videos.
“Bone Lake” stars Maddie Hasson (“Malignant”), Marco Pigossi (“Gen V”), Alex Roe (“Rings”), Andra Nechita (“Bad Teacher”), Eliane Reis and Clayton Spencer. The film was written by Joshua Friedlander, known for penning “Suicide Blonde” (1999) and “Holly Slept Over” (2020).
