‘Boy Kills World’ Trailer: Bill Skarsgård Leads A Loony, Action-Mayhem Spectacular Coming In April

While Alex and Stellan Skarsgård get a lot of the attention, there are at least three other Skarsgård siblings in the acting business, and Bill Skarsgård seems like he’s poised to grab the newest set of movie headlines. Already starring in “The Crow” remake and Robert Eggers’Nosferatu,” Skarsgård seems like he’s on the verge of breakthrough stardom. Having already appeared in “Barbarian” and “John Wick: Chapter 4,” coming up next for Skarsgård is ”Boy Kills World,” a post-apocalyptic thriller and B-movie action film that features members of the famous action spectacular “The Raid,” and is apparently in the same vein as that wildness.

The film is directed by Moritz Mohr and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. TIFF described it as “akin to stuffing a supercollider full of arcade beat ’em ups, ultra-violent comics, and martial-arts B movies, and then mashing all the buttons, Moritz Mohr’s feature-film debut is a wicked, maximalist action-opera.”

On top of Bill Skarsgård, the film stars Jessica Rothe, Michelle Dockery, Famke Janssen, Sharlto Copley, Brett Gelman, Isaiah Mustafa, Andrew Koji and Yayan Ruhian from the aforementioned “The Raid.”

Our review from TIFF described the film as a “gleeful orgy Of violence and blood-letting,” so it definitely sounds like a Midnight Madness-type film that’s heaven for action aficionados.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Skarsgård stars as “Boy” who vows revenge after his family is murdered by Hilda Van Der Koy (Janssen), the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that left the boy orphaned, deaf and voiceless. Driven by his inner voice, one which he co-opted from his favorite childhood video game, Boy trains with a mysterious shaman (Ruhian) to become an instrument of death and is set loose on the eve of the annual culling of dissidents. Bedlam ensues as Boy commits bloody martial arts mayhem, inciting a wrath of carnage and blood-letting. As he tries to get his bearings in this delirious realm, Boy soon falls in with a desperate resistance group, all the while bickering with the apparent ghost of his rebellious little sister.
