‘Buffaloed’ Trailer: Zoey Deutch Is A Hustler & Debt Collector Coming For Your Cash

Straight from the jump, Zoey Deutch has grabbed audiences from the first time she was on screen. Known for roles in Richard Linklater’s “Everybody Wants Some!!” (2016), ” Before I Fall” (2017), “Flower” (2017), and “Zombieland: Double Tap,” (2019), the 25-year-old has a dynamic, confident energy that always shimmers on screen.

That vibrancy is seemingly being tapped by filmmaker Tanya Wexler (“Hysteria“) for her latest film, “Buffaloed” which made its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival last year.

Co-starring Judy Greer, Jermaine Fowler, and Jai Courtney, “Buffaloed” is set in the city it takes its name from and center on a young girl obsessed with making enough cash to get out of her blue-collar existence (Deutch). Betting on her sharp mind—and even sharper mouth—to get her into an Ivy League university, Deutch’s Peg Dahl character then has to hustle if she ever hopes to pay off the expensive tuition for the university she’s been accepted into.

This is a film that Bernie Sanders and or his supporters would seemingly love, as it really talks about the wage gap, the 99% hustling for basic rights and the hardship that is living in today’s America. Here’s the official synopsis:

Buffalo is the debt collection capital of America, though Peg Dahl (Zoey Deutch) never saw herself in that world. But when an acceptance letter to the school of her dreams arrives, she quickly realizes the cruel impossibility of paying tuition. A chance phone call changes everything and leads her into the lucrative yet complex and shady business of delinquent debt collection. She’s a natural and soon running her own shop, but at what cost? Also starring Judy Greer, Jai Courtney and Jermaine Fowler, BUFFALOED is a hilarious and timely comedy about one woman rewriting the rules of The Man’s game.
