Carrie Coon Added To The Already Stacked Cast Of 'Avengers: Infinity War'

All the talk leading up to the impending release of “Avengers: Infinity War” has been about the sheer number of heroes present in the film. Some counts have put up to 60 or so recognizable characters in the upcoming superhero epic. But what there hasn’t been much talk about are the bad guys (and gal).

As the cast and crew do their press junkets, some more information has come out about the Black Order, aka Thanos’ cronies. Radio Times interviewed directors Joe and Anthony Russo about the Black Order, and now we know some of the actors that will portray the mostly-CG characters.

Carrie Coon, best known for her work on “Fargo” and “The Leftovers,” provides the voice for Proxima Midnight. Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, an Irish actor who has been seen in “The Infiltrator,” does the voice of Ebony Maw. And Terry Notary, who has done motion-capture work on “Avatar,” “The Hobbit,” and the most recent (and awesome) “Planet of the Apes” reboot series, provides the motion work and voice of Cull Obsidian.

Oddly enough, the directors failed to mention the last member of the Black Order, Corvus Glaive. Perhaps, this was just an oversight and they forgot to mention the name of the actor voicing the character. Or, maybe, this is on purpose, and the studio has a surprise actor lined up. Guess we’ll have to wait for the film’s release to find out.

Not much is known about these characters, other than their appearances in the comic books and their brief cameos in the footage seen so far. Marvel Studios, as they are known to do, have kept much of the plot of ‘Infinity War’ under wraps. The studio is also putting the big bad Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, front-and-center, which is probably for the best considering the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building to his first major appearance.

“Avengers: Infinity War” hits theaters April 27.
