The “Fifty Shades Of Grey” franchise is showing that it doesn’t have much lasting power in the cinematic bedroom. While the first film topped $571 million worldwide, the follow-up, “Fifty Shades Darker,” could only manage $378 million. That’s still a nice number, but generally speaking, you don’t want your sequel to make nearly $200 million less than its predecessor, so Universal might be advised to upgrade the kink for the final entry in the series, “Fifty Shades Freed.”
As Screen Junkies reveals in their latest Honest Trailer, ‘Darker’ only has about ten minutes of sex, in an otherwise unsatisfying movie about a young woman who is stalked by a good half-dozen people, and a man who throws up so many red flags, no reasonable person should be dating him, even less allowing him to tie them up. But hey, it’s the erotica sold at Target that makes Moms and Aunts feel naughty, and clearly, there are still lots of people out there who dig this franchise. Thoughts?
