Christophe Honore 'La Belle Personne' To Feature Nick Drake Songs

InContention’s Guy Lodge calls Christophe Honoré’s new film, “La Belle Personne” “one of the most romantic teen films I’ve ever seen, this radical updating of 17th-century French classic “The Princess of Cleves” follows the complex amorous entanglements of a group of Parisian high school students — and teachers — with rare grace, compassion and visual poetry.”

All of it is evidently set to a woozy score of Nick Drake songs which Honore confirms. “I’m a big fan of pop music as well and in this new film I used a lot of Nick Drake music.”

The film is playing at the 52nd annual London Film Festival this week and stars Honore regular, Louis Garrel and Léa Seydoux who was reported to be part of Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds,” but she did not turn up in the Weinstein press release about the film that came out yesterday (then again, they couldn’t have included all the actors and her part was presumably small, and apparently included last-minute).

There is indeed a lot of Nick Drake music in “La Belle Personne” which can be heard in the movie’s trailer including “Day Is Done” from Five Leaves Left.
