We’ll say it right now. We really couldn’t care less about “Ghost Rider: The Spirit Of Vengeance” (lulz x 1000), but we’ll be damned if the cast being assembled for this isn’t interesting enough to make us grudgingly (and probably regrettably) watch this thing. And now one more name has been added to stoke our interest.
The “Highlander” himself, Christopher Lambert, is reportedly in talks to join the film in a role that’s yet to be specified. He would join Nicolas Cage, Ciaran Hinds, Idris Elba and Johnny Whitworth in a film that we’re sure will be marginally better than the original. And yes, that’s a very backhanded compliment. So just how ridonkulous will the sequel be? The plot will follow “Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider (Cage), hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse. Blaze is recruited by a sect to take on the devil (Hinds), who wants to take over his mortal son’s body on the boy’s birthday.” Good grief.
The 3D film is set to be helmed by “Crank” directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor so expect lots and lots and lots of edits, low grade cameras, garish colors and bad music. [What’s Playing]
