Got a Tip?

Contest: Win ‘Inglourious Basterds’-Related Schwag; Posters, Soundtrack & Bowie 7”

OK, here’s a contest that will surely go lightning fast.

We here at The Playlist have a pretty cool “Inglourious Basterds” contest for our U.S. readers who are constantly puzzled about why we’re writing about a film that we were largely left unimpressed by (sue us? oh well).

To win: We currently have around 1,500 users on Twitter, but if you’re the 10,000th user, you’ll get all this good stuff. Just kidding. To win you must email us the answer to these three questions and we’re going try and make it relatively tough for you this time. . UPDATE: Contest closed, thanks for playing. 1) What famous actor was originally pegged to play David Carradine’s role of Bill in “Kill Bill 1 & 2”? 2) What recent comeback actor was originally Quentin Tarantino’s first choice to play Kurt Russell’s role in “Death Proof”? 3) Despite the fact that Tarantino claims he never uses composers for score material, what hip-hop producer and director essentially scored ‘Kill Bill 1 & 2’ respectively?

You must get all three answers correct to win the contest and there are no exceptions. All the info is on the interwebs and isn’t that hard to find. Tarantino-ites should probably have this info stored in their brains somewhere likely in the more-significant memory lobe that takes precedence over important birthdays and anniversaries of loved ones.

1 U.S. (and U.S. only unfortunately, we don’t make these rules) winner will receive:
– 1 copy of the soundtrack on CD
– 1 special edition David Bowie 7″ vinyl for featured song “Cat People”
and two ‘Inglourious Basterds’ movie posters (here’s one of them).
– 1 pair of Dr. Martens Originals 8 eye boots autographed by Tarantino himself

Don’t ask us about the Doc Martens and why they’re connected, we just work here. If you’re curious, the soundtrack details are here and the disc comes out August 18 (there’s also a vinyl version).

“Inglourious Basterds” hits theaters on August 21 and it seems like the Weinstein Company has been throwing everything left in the kitty so audiences are aware of this film. Let’s hope for their sake it works.
