MUBI has sent us a new trailer for “Magic Farm” from writer/director Amalia Ulman, as the festival darling is making its way to theaters starting this month.
The cast of “Magic Farm” consists of Chloë Sevigny, Alex Wolff, Joe Apollonio, Camila del Campo, and Simon Rex, with a producing team that features Alex Hughes, Eugene Kotlyarenko, and Riccardo Maddalosso.
“Magic Farm,” previously screened at film festivals such as Berlinale and Sundance, and you can read The Playlist’s review from Sundance right here.
An official synopsis provided to us by MUBI reads:
Fake it ’til you make it. The latest gem from Amalia Ulman (“El Planeta”), “Magic Farm,” takes us on a kaleidoscopic journey packed with twists and turns, cross-cultural encounters, and true personalities. When a misguided American documentary crew in search of their next viral segment ends up in the wrong town in rural Argentina, chaos ensues. As they collaborate with locals to fake a new music trend, unexpected relationships form, and an unfolding health crisis becomes apparent. Colorful and unfiltered, it is shot through with a vivid sense of place.
The new pic written and directed by Ulman, is heading to NYC on April 25 and expands to additional cities on May 2. Some of the additional international release dates are Canada on May 2 and the UK & Ireland on May 16.
