'Cyrano' Exclusive Featurette: Peter Dinklage Talks About Acceptance, Love & Swordfighting In His New Film

Peter Dinklage has taken on challenging roles in the past. But nothing seems to be as challenging as his new role in the acclaimed musical drama, “Cyrano.” In the film, Dinklage plays the title character, a master swordsman and a secret love interest of the girl of his dreams. Oh yeah, and he has to sing.

With “Cyrano” arriving in theaters later this month, we’re happy to give our readers an exclusive look at a behind-the-scenes featurette that goes deep into Dinklage’s character and explains just how impactful the actor is with his co-stars in the film. The actor is joined by Haley Bennett and Kelvin Harrison Jr. in the cast. The film is written and directed by Joe Wright.

“Cyrano” is expected to be a major player in this awards season and has already earned multiple Golden Globe nominations, as well as a Critics Choice Award nomination for Dinklage’s performance.

Here’s the synopsis:

Award-winning director Joe Wright envelops moviegoers in a symphony of emotions with music, romance, and beauty in Cyrano, re-imagining the timeless tale of a heartbreaking love triangle. A man ahead of his time, Cyrano de Bergerac (played by Peter Dinklage) dazzles whether with ferocious wordplay at a verbal joust or with brilliant swordplay in a duel. But, convinced that his appearance renders him unworthy of the love of a devoted friend, the luminous Roxanne (Haley Bennett), Cyrano has yet to declare his feelings for her — and Roxanne has fallen in love, at first sight, with Christian (Kelvin Harrison Jr.).
