Got a Tip?

Daisy Ridley Is ‘The Lost Wife’

Daisy Ridley The Lost WifeIt seems Daisy Ridley is eager to prove her bona fides beyond the confines of the "Star Wars" universe. She recently signed up to star in "The Diary Of A Teenage Girl" and director Marielle Heller‘s fantasy/drama "Kolma," and now she’s lining up the wartime tale "The Lost Wife."

The actress will star in the adaptation of Alyson Richman‘s novel concerning a couple in Prague who are torn apart during WWII, but get another chance to connect years later when they fatefully cross paths again. Here’s the book synopsis:

In pre-war Prague, the dreams of two young lovers are shattered when they are separated by the Nazi invasion. Then, decades later, thousands of miles away in New York, there’s an inescapable glance of recognition between two strangers… Providence is giving Lenka and Josef one more chance.

Marc Klein ("Serendipity," "A Good Year") has penned the script, and he seems like a good fit for the material, but the hunt is on for a director and a studio to take it on. Meetings are ongoing and with the project headed to the Cannes Film Festival marketplace next month, expect more movement on this one before it goes to buyers around the world. [Variety]
