Final 'Deadpool 2' Trailer Trolls The DC Universe And Introduces Peter, Your New Favorite X-Force Member

“So dark! You sure you’re not from the DC Universe?”

And at that point in the new trailer, you realize that all the concerns about test screenings and reshoots are a moot point. “Deadpool 2” is going to use the same humor and tone that made the first one such a massive hit, and his jokes are just as biting and timely as the last outing.

As we see in the new, “final” trailer for the film, the plot of Deadpool’s latest outing is all about a kid. Some special kid that mean, DC Universe-y Cable wants and Deadpool must protect. And to protect the kid, Deadpool puts together X-Force, which judging by this footage isn’t necessarily a replacement for the Avengers, if you know what I mean. However, a shout out must go to Peter, played by comedian Rob Delaney. Terry Crews’ Bedlam looks badass. Domino looks like she belongs in a superhero film. Even Shatterstar gets a moment of ass-kicking. But Peter, he just shows up and is game to strap on a parachute and jump out of a plane. Good for you, Peter!

“Deadpool 2” is set for nationwide release on May 18. Ryan Reynolds, who had a blast while promoting the first film and implemented his own ideas, will return. Josh Brolin will play Cable, as seen in recent promotion material, and “Atomic Blonde‘s” David Leitch will be in the directors’ chair.

It must be said that “Deadpool 2” doesn’t have an easy road ahead of it, as far as replicating the first film’s box office success. Opening only a few weeks after “Avengers: Infinity War” and literally one week before “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” “Deadpool 2” doesn’t have the luxury of the lack of competition that the last film did. For the sequel to reach the heights of the first, Fox has to hope that ‘Avengers’ fades quickly and ‘Solo’ is just the mess everyone is expecting.

No matter it’s financial future, this trailer definitely shows that fans of the original film have nothing to worry about. “Deadpool 2” is going to be exactly what you want.
