With Disney already crushing the domestic box office for 2016, the studio is gearing up to dominate in the years ahead as well. The mouse house is kicking off the week by unveiling a handful of new dates for their increasingly successful branch of fairy tale and live action movies, that will carry them through 2019. The kicker? They haven’t said which movies will be arriving on those dates just yet, but here’s what their boosted slate looks like:
UNTITLED DISNEY FAIRY TALE (Live Action) previously dated on 12/22/17 moves up to 7/28/17
UNTITLED DISNEY FAIRY TALE (Live Action) now dated on 4/6/18
UNTITLED DISNEY LIVE ACTION now dated on 8/3/18
UNTITLED DISNEY LIVE ACTION now dated on 12/25/18
UNTITLED DISNEY FAIRY TALE (Live Action) now dated on 12/20/19
Wondering which movies will get slotted in there? Well, Disney has also provided a list of their brewing fairy tale and live action movies, so from the list below, make your guess. I’d put money on "The Jungle Book 2," "Cruella," and "Maleficent 2" being certainties in the mix. But who knows — plans are always changing and evolving, and Disney doesn’t make a move unless they are absolutely certain it’s going to pay off financially and creatively. Let us know what you think in the comments section.
