Actress Margaret Qualley (“Poor Things”) has been hotter than a pistol after breakout roles in films like “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, “The Nice Guys,” and more recently with Coralie Fargeat‘s acclaimed genre-hybrid “The Substance.” She’s now landed a starring role in the mysterious Rachel Morrison-helmed film “Love of Your Life,” which has a script written by Julia Cox, as reported by Deadline.
Ryan Gosling (“Star Wars: Starfighter”) and Jessie Henderson (“Spy,” “A Simple Favor”) are producing after helping Amazon MGM Studios nab the film in a bidding war back in October. Sadly, we’ll have to wait a little longer before we get plot and character details, as those are being kept under lock and key, for the moment.
Other projects on the horizon for Qualley include the Ridley Scott-directed sci-fi film “The Dog Stars,” in which she’ll be seen alongside Josh Brolin (“Weapons”), Jacob Elordi (“The Narrow Road To The Deep North”), and Guy Pearce (“The Brutalist”) as filming is currently underway. Another one coming out this August is the Ethan Coen pic “Honey Don’t” that sees her co-starring with Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans.
There is also an expectation that she will reprise her dual roles from the video game “Death Stranding” for the live-action adaptation at A24.
Morrison started out as a cinematographer working on films such such “Fruitvale Station,” “Black Panther,” “Dope,” “Seberg,” and “Mudbound” before cutting her teeth as a director on things like “The Morning Show,” “The Mandaorian,” “American Crime Story,” and making the jump to features with the boxing drama “The Fire Inside.”
Again, we’ll likely learn more about “Love of Your Life” in the coming months as more actors attach themselves and production starts.
