You Probably Haven't Seen The Film But Now You Can Enjoy 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote's' Music

The creation of Terry Gilliam’sThe Man Who Killed Don Quixote” has been a wild ride.  The picture, which we reported in 2015, was once famously canceled after a horrifically rocky production and had been subject to numerous reports of potential start dates and a rotating list of new cast members.  Then just when it seemed like all of the films ducks were in a row, in September of 2016, only days before production was supposed to start, the film was delayed again. It was starting to look as if this was going to become a film that we talked about for years but would never see, and it almost was.

This year alone, we’ve written headlines ranging from “Terry Gilliam’s ‘Man Who Killed Don Quixote’ Trailer Is Finally Here” and “Terry Gilliam’s ‘Don Quixote’ And Several Other Films Get Added To Cannes Lineup” to “Terry Gilliam’s ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’ Cannes Premiere Might Still Be In Jeopardy” and “‘Man Who Killed Don Quixote’ Curse Continues: Amazon Pulls Out Of U.S. Distribution.” Needless to say, this film’s completion can be referred to as a miracle and is proof that if you care about something and work at it enough, you can make it happen.

While it seems like US distribution on the film is still up in the air, we can all breathe easy knowing that it’s an actual film that has been made, people have seen, and, with all of the media attention surrounding it, someone will likely pick up. Until then, Spotify has some good news for fans of the film. The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote” is now available for streaming.

The 19-song soundtrack was done by Spanish musical composer, Roque Baños. Baños has 89 TV and Film composing credits under his belt, but is most widely known for his work on the soundtracks for films such as “Don’t Breathe,” “Evil Dead,” and “The Heart of the Sea.”

The soundtrack runtime is approximately an hour and can be listened to on Spotify, here.
