'Don't Look Up' Trailer: Jennifer Lawrence & Leonardo DiCaprio Star In Adam McKay's Doomsday Comedy

Three years after the Dick Cheney biopic “Vice,” Adam McKay is back with his next film, “Don’t Look Up.” Why that title? Well, there’s a comet on its way to destroy Earth, and a couple of astronomers must conduct a massive media tour to warn humanity. The problem is, most of society won’t take the threat seriously–or perhaps they just don’t want to. Sound familiar to anyone else?

Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio star as the astronomer team who sets out to tell the world to take its destruction seriously. Perhaps what’s McKay’s most stacked ensemble cast yet joins in on the fun, including Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, and Timothée Chalamet.

But wait, there’s (a lot) more. Ron Perlman, Ariana Grande, Scot Mescudi, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Chris Evans, Gina Gershon, Michael Chiklis, Tomer Sisley, Melanie Lynskey, and Paul Guilfoyle are all on board, too.

As per usual with his films, McKay writes and directs “Don’t Look Up.” Joining him are musician Nicholas Britell and editor Hank Corwin, who worked with him on “Vice” and 2015’s “The Big Short.”

Some critics malign McKay’s transition to politically-minded movies from his riotous comedies that started with “The Big Short.” However, it looks like “Don’t Look Up” may straddle the line between message movie and absurdist flair pretty well.

Audiences find out how well after the film gets a limited theatrical release on December 10 before streaming exclusively on Netflix on December 24. Check out the trailer for “Don’t Look Up” below.
