Ooof. That hurt. The new poster for “Source Code” has debuted and it’s — to put it kindly — an eyesore.
As you recall, the film centers on a soldier, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, who is part of an experimental government program investigating a terrorist incident. He finds himself in the body of an unknown commuter living and reliving a harrowing train bombing until he can find who is responsible for the attack. The film features a fantastic supporting cast including Vera Farmiga, Michelle Monaghan, Jeffrey Wright and comedian Russell Peters. Ok then, great premise. Unfortunately, the new poster makes it look like Gyllenhaal has been sucked into his computer while his iTunes revolts against him. Or like a bad day at copy shop.
In the online equivalent of an eyeroll and a “it ain’t me folks, it’s the marketing department” sentiment, director Duncan Jones quickly hit Twitter to say, “For those asking… No… Source Code does not take place in an exploding Kinkos. lol” He later added, “Poster works better if you look at it while pressing this button. ;)”
Anyway, we’ll pretend this poster never happened and wait to see the film when it opens on April 1st. [Yahoo!]
