Elizabeth Olsen Teases 'WandaVision' Surprise On Par With Luke Skywalker In 'The Mandalorian'

Ready to have your mind blown? Apparently, Marvel Studios has some more surprises and cameos coming up in “WandaVision!” I know, right? Super shocking. But seriously, in a new interview with TVLine, Elizabeth Olsen definitely hints at a massive cameo coming to the show, on par with another recent Disney+ series.

When Olsen was asked if “WandaVision” had a secret cameo up its sleeve, on par with Luke Skywalker in “The Mandalorian,” the actress replied, “Yes.” She continued that she’s “really excited” for viewers of the show to see what is coming.

So, with that knowledge, we can do what superhero fans love to do — speculate!

The easiest guess, especially if you follow the rumor mill on social media, is that Wanda’s brother, Pietro, is going to appear. Last we saw Pietro, aka Quicksilver, in the MCU, he was played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and died at the end of “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” That said, the rumor isn’t about Taylor-Johnson. Instead, the scuttlebutt says that maybe we’ll see Evan Peters (who played Quicksilver in the ‘X-Men’ films at Fox) showing up as an alternate universe version of Pietro. That would surely make people go crazy and would mark the first-ever official crossover between the Fox universe and the MCU.

Outside of that, who might surprise us? Along the same lines as Pietro, if we want to talk about family appearances, we could see another ‘X-Men’ crossover with Magneto showing up, as it was heavily hinted at him being related to Quicksilver and his sister in the Fox universe. But seeing Michael Fassbender showing up in “WandaVision” seems highly unlikely.

The next best guess, logically speaking, would be Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man. In the comics, Wonder Man is an actor-turned-superhero that is vital in the creation of Vision. Of course, the films did Vision’s origins very differently and didn’t use Williams. That said, considering that version of Vision is dead and they need to create a new Vision at the end of the series (because that has to be the end result, right?), they could use Williams in this new origin story. And that would point to Nathan Fillion showing up in the series.

Fillion was cast as Simon Williams in James Gunn’sGuardians of the Galaxy Vol 2” in more of an Easter Egg role, with Williams showing up in MCU posters for fictional films. But those scenes were eventually cut. But Fillion is a great actor and would fit right into the tone of “WandaVision.” And if they need to create Vision, why not have Williams as a resident of Westview that is the person that Wanda uses to create this new Vision? It would honor the comics and shock the hell out of viewers.

And to be fair, when we asked creator Jac Shaeffer about this recently, she didn’t necessarily deny it…

Of course, we’re likely not going to find out any of this until we see the remaining five episodes of “WandaVision,” but there are definitely surprises ahead.
