Exclusive Clip From Venice Film ‘Amanda’ Shows Amazing Chemistry Between Stacy Martin And Vincent Lacoste

This year’s Venice Film Festival is filled with some of the biggest names in film. From directors like Alfonso Cuaron and Luca Guadagnino to stars like Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Natalie Portman, and Joaquin Phoenix, this year’s festival might be the best ever. But let’s not forget that there are plenty of incredible films debuting at Venice that don’t get the headlines that big names do. One of those films is the quietly moving drama “Amanda.”

“Amanda” tells the story of a man (played by Vincent Lacoste) who meets and falls in love with a young woman (Stacy Martin, best known for her role in Lars von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac”). However, their ideal relationship gets thrown for a loop when the man’s sister is tragically killed and he must take on the responsibility of caring for his young niece, Amanda.

And we’re lucky enough to present an exclusive clip (watch below) from the film, which shows the amazing chemistry between Martin and Lacoste as they talk about their lives, as well as the young girl, who may or may not be 7-years-old…or perhaps 16? This charming first date happens right before the tragedy that is about to greatly affect the characters.

“Amanda” is directed by Mikhaël Hers, who is probably best known for his previous films “This Summer Feeling” and “Memory Lane.” The cast includes the aforementioned Martin and Lacoste along with Isaure Multrier, Ophélia Kolb, Marianne Basler, Jonathan Cohen, and Greta Scacchi.

“Amanda” is premiering on August 31 at the Venice Film Festival.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:

David, who gets by doing odd jobs, meets Lena, who has just moved up to Paris, and falls in love. But soon after, his life is brutally interrupted by the sudden death of his sister. Beyond the shock, and the pain, David now finds himself alone with his young niece Amanda to care for.
