Quentin Tarantino Casts His Charles Manson & Adds More Great Young Actors For 'Once Upon A Time'

Sure, names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, and Al Pacino are going to grab the headlines when they join the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” However, it’s going to be those smaller names that will probably surprise us the most. And with the latest bit of ‘Once Upon a Time’ casting news, we see that the filmmaker is digging up some of the biggest up-and-coming actors to fill out pivotal roles.

According to The Wrap, leading the way is Damon Herriman, who is probably best known for his work on the critically-acclaimed, and severely underrated, “Justified.” Herriman has landed the highly-coveted role of Charles Manson in the film. “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” features a former TV actor (DiCaprio) and his stunt double BFF (Pitt) as they navigate the changing Hollywood of 1969, while also dealing with the fact that the actor’s neighbor Sharon Tate (Robbie) was just murdered by the Manson Family. Needless to say, Herriman’s role is crucial to that story.

Also landing a role in the film is Rumer Willis, best known for being Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ daughter but also recently starring in “Empire.” She’ll play British actress Joanna Pettet in the film. However, perhaps most exciting of all is the addition of Margaret Qualley as the character Kitty Kat. For those not familiar, Qualley is incredible in the just-ended HBO series “The Leftovers.” She also has a great role in the highly-anticipated Tim Sutton festival film “Donnybrook” (early word is that Qualley might steal the show). And perhaps her best work to-date is in the Kenzo music video/commercial from director Spike Jonze.

Tarantino has also brought on Dreama Walker, Costa Ronin, Victoria Pedretti, and Madisen Beaty to round out the cast for the film that is currently in production.

“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” hits theaters July 26, 2019.
