The 2021 Cannes Film Festival announces its line-up tomorrow morning, and Pedro Almodóvar‘s next movie starring Penélope Cruz gets a first look. Coincidence? Unfortunately yes. Production has just finished on Pedro Almodóvar’s latest, “Parallel Mothers” (“Madres Paralelas”). Still, perhaps nature is healing, and this is all a sign that the world is coming back to normal. We’re getting a Cannes Film Festival soon and then another Almodóvar film, albeit, probably next year.
And if we’re talking about traditions, well, Sony Pictures Classics, who essentially always releases every Almodóvar film, is back on this one and today, have released a behind-the-scenes clip of the filming of “Parallel Mothers” (In 2016, SPC announced they had acquired the rest of Almodóvar’s full library of films that they had not already released) This new Almodóvar film stars Penélope Cruz, Milena Smit, Israel Elejalde, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Rossy de Palma and Julieta Serrano. Additionally, El Deso in Spain released the first look photos of the film, which you can see below.

Tie Me Down!” (1989), then took a long break from his inner circle after two more appearances in the ’90s. She’s been back in recent years, appearing in “Broken Embraces” (2009) and “Julieta” (2016) and now “Parallel Mothers.”
